Open seven days a week, Brasserie Europe offers inventive and refined cuisine, striking a balance between gastronomic creativity and comforting indulgence. Beyond lunch and dinner service, with the kitchen open at night until 11 pm, guests can enjoy coffee and freshly baked pastries throughout the day or relax with a drink at the bar.

Just steps from Lake Geneva and Cornavin Station, a historic address is being reborn in Geneva. Nestled within the iconic Plaza Cinema building, Brasserie Europe offers a refined dining experience set against the elegant and distinctive architectural backdrop designed by Marc J. Saugey in 1952.

Inspired by the spirit of Europe’s great brasseries, the Plaza’s restaurant brings to life a vibrant and carefully curated venue where guests gather to share memorable culinary moments in the heart of Geneva. With freshness and creativity, the classic brasserie tradition is reimagined while remaining true to its promise of elegance, generosity, and comfort. The menu showcases refined yet approachable dishes, elevated by indulgent touches that celebrate seasonal ingredients.

In the kitchen, Chef Jean-Jacques Danthine brings a personal, contemporary, and festive flair to the menu. His hand-cut beef tartare, a signature favourite, is enhanced with a thyme vinegar gel and pickled vegetables. For those seeking an extra touch of indulgence, roasted bone marrow can be added to complete the dish.

The Belgian-born chef’s culinary compositions evolve with the seasons and are often infused with inspirations from his homeland, reinterpreted through a local lens. His take on the iconic waterzooi, for example, features regional fish served in a rich, delicately lemon-scented broth, accompanied by crisp vegetables and pilaf rice.

Each of the three acts of the menu—starter, main course and dessert—is available in five variations. Depending on market availability, seasonal produce also inspires daily specials that complement the permanent menu. At lunchtime, a concise weekly menu featuring three options provides an ideal setting for business lunches or gatherings with friends.

From 8 am onwards, the dining room is bathed in natural light thanks to the vast glass façade overlooking the intersection of Chantepoulet and Rue du Mont-Blanc, offering views of the Hôtel de la Poste and Holy Trinity Church. The understated interior highlights noble materials, from the furniture to its carefully selected bespoke accessories. Remaining faithful to Marc J. Saugey’s legacy, and with the collaboration of Youri Kravtchenko (YKRA Studio), FdMP Architectes has endowed this historic venue with a distinctive spirit that is both chic and urban.

Ahead of the full inauguration of the Plaza complex in early 2027—with its restored historic cinema auditorium, immersive screening room, 17-room cinema hotel, Bar Glacier, bookshop café and exhibition spaces—Brasserie Europe marks the beginning of a new chapter of conviviality. Soon, its exceptional dining experience will be complemented by the many attractions of the future cinema centre, where creativity, culture and the art of living will come together in countless ways.

Cette version adopte un ton haut de gamme et international, proche des standards de communication des hôtels, restaurants et institutions culturelles de prestige.
